Collaboration

Here is an example how fun art can be. These works are first drawn by a son and daughter between the ages of 4-7 years old. Their artist father then colors in their line drawing. This is a fun way to bond with family in creating special memories with each other. He did such a great job in coloring them. These drawings make my heart melt- it reminds me of why I wanted to be an artist in the first place.. To create, imagine, and laugh.

Jasper Johns

Jasper Johns is an artist that I respect. He uses the everyday ordinary and recreates it as in his ale cans. They look like regular ol' cans, but the precision of the wear and tear on these cans are just amazing. It is difficult to replicate nature. He uses economy, society, and culture as nature and replicates it. I appreciate his colors and layers and all his effort he puts forth in his work. His color theory in his flag that is posted below is incredible. If we stare at it and then look at a white space, we will see it as red, white, and blue! That is an artist to me!!

Shea hembrey

Shea Hembrey is an artist that grew up in the backwoods of Arkansas. He never went to an art museum or art show until after he was an adult. He is becoming world renowned for his out of box thinking. He uses over a hundred different aliases with back stories and each alias is an artist that works in different media. I just think this is amazing. In the open world of art, it still tries to keep an artist in a closed box in which media the artist uses. I love the genius that Shea has used this to his advantage and has created a way to be able to use any media he wants to. I love how he loves his family and how his family supports him and helps him with his work. These are just a tiny few of his hundreds of works. They show his diversity.
